Our hosts, Jerome & Andrea - takin us to the MoMa (who keeps a great blog as well: http://lostinharlem.blogspot.com/). **and yes, we were staying in Harlem with these 2 the weekend Michael Jackson died, though somehow managed to avoid any craziness**
after the kiddos first night in DC- COMPLETELY tuckered out and asleep on our bed. sweet babies!! (i think they may have been a LITTLE excited!)
Family paddleboating in the Tidal Basin
Isabella cracking me up (with her sponge curled hair!!)
Mr. Samuel at the 4th of July parade (which he loved!)
About as all American as they get. :)
great one of Sie and the kiddos.
After playing all day at the National Mall, Samuel was officially a wild man! (this is prob. my fav. pic from the weekend)
how can you resist this sweet boy. :) Posing with his glow-in-the-dark necklaces from Uncle Sie-Sie.
The most amazing fireworks show I've ever seen.
Sie & all of his best buds went to Wisconsin for a week of fishing, beer and general manliness ;)
"they're on a boat"
Mike with one of the bigger catches of the week :)

the whole gang - they took this pic for my mom to thank her for the cigars! :)
After Wisconsin, I met Sie in Chicago, where we were staying with our good friend Brandon for Pitchfork Music festival. :)We loved his new neighborhood - Wicker Park/Bucktown- so great!
Sie & I went on a date to Trump's new tower in Chicago. Me, enjoying a lemon twist at "Sixteen." and that giant thing inside the drink = was a stalk of lemon grass, which i proceeded to use as a straw. sophisticated ;)
Rog & Brandon enjoying the show.
the boys, day 1 of Pitchfork
Roger & I (i think i was into the music!) :)
Last but not least, my trip to Houston.
Amy Sikes, her mom Barbara Sikes, Cheryl Johanning & Abby Jones and I threw a baby shower for Kim Carson. She was the cutest mommy to be- so petite with what looked like a little volleyball under her dress!
(side note: How do I set Sie's expectations that I will so NOT look like this when pregnant? haha.)
the shower was beautiful- Amy is a great hostess (and her home was beautiful) & she had put a lot of thought into theme and decor. We all helped with the menu which also was a big hit. Amy made a neat collage with details of the shower on her blog as well: http://amyandbrettkummer.blogspot.com/2009/07/kims-baby-shower.html
** P.s. many of these are from facebook already too **
Rebecca & I couldn't get enough of Kim's baby bump. Later on, Crew kicked while we were all hovering around feeling- AMAZING!
Champagne bar- the frame includes 3 champagne cocktail recipes. Loved this idea b/c you could have your choice of alcoholic (with champagne) or non-alcoholic (just juice). Great option for showers.
The beautiful dining room - "Celebrate" sign courtesy of Amy.
the spread
The candy bar, complete with chocolate babies made by Barbara and edible pacifiers (made by yours truly) ;)
The dining table (the german chocolate cake looking item on a pedestal is actually my Cha-Cha Chicken Salad from Southern Living- it turned out really well & was very tasy!)
The hostesses with the mostest and mommy Kim
The girls- coordinating until i blew the color scheme. :)
Lindy and her cute son Cade, giving some mom to mom advice. (also a good one of Kim's little baby bump!)
the sign-in book, complete with pics of Kim & her husband Brett as babies. (such a cute idea)
